Dunrobin Castle in Sutherland, Highland Scotland, is the largest castle in the northern Highlands, with 189 rooms overlooking the Dornoch Firth. Its oldest recorded mention dates to 1401; between 1835 and 1850 architect Sir Charles Barry — best known for designing the Houses of Parliament — remodeled it in Scottish baronial and French Renaissance styles for George, 2nd Duke of Sutherland. A fire in 1915, while the castle served as a naval hospital, damaged the roof and much of Barry's newer interior work; Sir Robert Lorimer oversaw the subsequent restoration.

The castle is open to visitors from April through October and includes a museum and falconry displays in the gardens.
